Tomorrow's leaders: Early Career Academics and Researchers Forum

Australia's future will be driven by today's early career academics and researchers – tomorrow’s leaders in research and tertiary education.

The Forum will discuss:

  • structural and demographic factors shaping Australia's professional, academic and scientific workforce
  • experiences that lay foundations for successful careers as academics and researchers
  • the participation of early career researchers in the Research Quality Framework

Professor Vicki Sara is Chancellor of the University of Technology Sydney and was previously Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council.

Professor Warwick Anderson AM is Chief Executive Officer of the National Health & Medical Research Council, and was previously Head of School of Biomedical Sciences at Monash University.

Ms Leanne Harvey is the Manager of the Research Systems Branch of the Department of Education, Science and Training's Innovation and Research Systems Group.

Following the seminar Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of New South Wales will host a Vice-Regal Reception at Government House for Early Career Researchers nominated by their Universities.
