Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC FAA FRS is the Michael F Tamer Chair of Biomedical Research at St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and Laureate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Melbourne. He was Australian of the Year in 1997.
